There are two observation hides available for use by the public. A permit, issued free of charge, is required to gain entrance to the hides.  A printable permit application form is available by clicking .  The completed form should be returned to the address indicated on the form.

The 'Lapwing' hide is nearest to the car park and allows easy access for wheelchair users.  Access to the 'Shelduck' hide is by means of gravel roadway which may be found more difficult for wheelchair visitors.

The nearest public toilets are located in Ellesmere.

During the school terms the 'Shelduck' hide is occasionally used as a classroom.
