Water Vole

Rat

Water voles are smaller than rats.  They are chunkier, with rounded faces. Their fur is chestnut to dark brown, rather than grey-brown.  Their tails are shorter and furry, compared with rats' longer, scaly tails. Water voles eat vegetation along stream banks.  Their ears are less prominent than rats'.
