|
Water voles are smaller than rats. They are chunkier, with rounded faces. Their fur is chestnut to dark brown, rather than grey-brown. Their tails are shorter and furry, compared with rats' longer, scaly tails. Water voles eat vegetation along stream banks. Their ears are less prominent than rats'.
